Therole is to work 4 to 6 sessions per week with a starting salary dependent onexperience per session per annum, dependant on experience

Main duties of the job
* Provide the full range of NHS Primary Medical Services to the patients registered at the practice, temporary residents and patients presenting for immediately necessary treatment including clinical examination, diagnosis, treatment and referral as appropriate.
* Be personally accountable for professional and ethical actions and practices within a legal and ethical framework that adheres to the GMC's requirements and local policies and procedures.
* Maintain confidentiality, while communicating patient information in such a way that preserves the dignity and privacy of the patient and the patient's family and carers.
* Work in a non-judgemental anti-discriminatory way with regard to the cultural and religious beliefs of individuals, groups, people with disabilities and learning difficulties to communicate with the patients and carers understanding their care within the service.
* Ensure that prior to any course of action involving individuals/groups, their informed consent or other valid authority has been obtained.
* The post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including face to face consultations, telephone consultations, visiting patients at home, checking, and signing repeat prescription, including EPS, and correspondence in a timely manner.
* Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
* Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
* Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
* In consultation with patients and in-line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.
* Providing counselling and health education
* Referring to other care providers as appropriate
* Recording clear and accurate consultation notes using the practice electronic clinic system, also using the Ardens and QOF templates.
* Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
* Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
* In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care
* Apply practice policies, standards and guidance.
* Discuss with other members of the team how the policies, standards and guidelines will affect own work.
* Participate in audit where appropriate and commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence based best practice.
* Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the practice.
* Contributing to the development of computer-based patient records.
* Contributing to the practice achievement of QOF and other performance targets.
* Attending training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
* Be registered with the GMC.
* Maintain medical indemnity.
* Have an up-to-date DBS.

Weare a Training Practice hosting 4 Registrars at any one time. The team consists of a GP Partner, SalariedGP's, Pharmacists, LTC Nurse, Nursing Associate, HCAs, as well as a fullcomplement of admin staff.
