Multiskilled Engineer Location: Ashbourne Reports to: Engineering Team Leader To provide an effective and safe engineering service to the production team and respond to operational demands in a timely fashion. To maintain equipment both proactively and reactively to ensure factory performance meets targets and KPIs. To improve equipment availability and performance to meet OEE targets through identifying and implementing improvements. To proactively use the PPM System in place (SAP) for the capture of all engineering labour and booking out of parts. Responsibilities: To provide effective breakdown cover to the production department, to fault find and repair machines. To ensure that all equipment operates efficiently producing product according to the specification. To work closely with the Engineering leadership team to ensure that any faults beyond the competence of the Engineer are reported and rectified promptly via third party if required. Ensure Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules are maintained in accordance with current requirements. Proactive in ensuring Health & Safety legislation is adhered to. Ensure working to site specific Hygiene requirements including PPE, Technical handback procedures etc. To help in the training and assessment of staff regarding machine operation. To work closely with visiting engineers to ensure that any agreed improvements or modifications deliver the desired benefits to the business. Responsible for ensuring that all equipment documentation is fully and accurately completed and appropriately filed or passed on to the correct department. To report any non-conformances in machine performance. Ensure effective and detailed handovers are provided at all times, using clear verbal and written communication skills. Liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure efficiency of projects Work within the permit to work system on site Attend internal and external training courses to ensure technical and professional skills are maintained To undertake other duties as your manager may require To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes and procedures operating within their area and across the wider business e.g. reduction of waste, recycling etc. Essential Criteria: Level 3 City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical and/or Electronic engineering. Qualifications to be recognised in the UK. Delivers quality and accuracy in own work and standards. Able to cope under pressure and flex with peaks in personal workload. Time served Apprentice. Health & Safety disciplined. Minimum 6 months as a Skill 1 Engineer after completing apprenticeship Desirable Criteria: Previous experience of manufacturing operations. Experience in the food processing industry. PLC experience. Welding experience. Knowledge of lean techniques and processes. Computer Literate, Microsoft outlook and SAP PM 17th/18th (or equivalent) Edition qualified. COSHH Food Safety Level 2
