Hedley Price Funeral Directors Ltd are an established and busy family funeral home serving the West Somerset and Exmoor communities. We are looking for an empathetic and committed person to join our small friendly team who will uphold our values and maintain our excellent reputation in the community by ensuring our service is of the highest standard

In the role of a Funeral Director role, you will be expected to:
· Be the main point of contact for our clients – offering professional advice, support and guidance
· Arrange and direct funeral services – arranging all aspects of the funeral service, liaising and working with professionals and leading our team on the day
· Provide funeral support – supporting colleagues in collecting and caring for the deceased, driving funeral vehicles, and pallbearing when necessary
· Build and maintain positive relationships with our team, clients, professionals and the community
· Provide out of hours cover (evenings and weekends) on a rota basis (1 in every 6 weeks)
· Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Have an empathetic, patient manner
· Be organised, self-motivated, and pay close attention to details
· Be competent with use of office IT systems
· Be physically fit to carry out manual handling tasks
· Be of smart appearance
· Live within 20 minutes travel to our offices or be prepared to relocate within this area
· Hold a full manual driving licence
If you are new to this role training will be provided both 'on the job' and with the British Institute of Funeral Directors to gain a professional qualification at the highest level available. The course will last approximately 2 years and you will be expected to attend evening classes in Plymouth during this period.
Experienced qualified funeral directors should have a minimum of 2 years funeral directing experience and be qualified with either the British Institute of Funeral Directors or the National Association of Funeral Directors.
Trainee Funeral Directors should have a minimum of 1 year's relevant customer service experience.
