We’re recruiting on behalf of a progressive, Top 50 accountancy practice with offices across the East and South East of England. Following a period of exciting growth and investment, they’re now looking for a Semi-Senior Accountant to join their team in Colchester.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone studying AAT, ACA or ACCA who wants hands-on experience with a broad range of clients—from sole traders to charities and limited companies—while receiving full support to progress both technically and professionally.
What you’ll be doing:
* Assist in preparing year-end statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
* Support with bookkeeping and VAT return preparation
* Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and build professional relationships
* Collaborate with team members and other departments to deliver joined-up client service
* Mentor junior team members and contribute to a positive, learning-led culture
* Get involved with ad hoc projects and gain exposure to wider business advisory work
What they’re looking for:
* Currently studying AAT Level 4, ACA or ACCA (or planning to start soon)
* Previous experience in an accountancy practice environment
* Good attention to detail and solid IT skills (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or similar)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow
