Youth Support Worker Location :Cheltenham Service: Supported Accommodation Salary: £13.75 per hour £50 per sleep-in Hours: Full-time, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins (average 155 hours per month) Rota: Static 3-week rolling rota 09:45 23:00 23:00 08:00 (Sleep) 08:00 10:00 Week 1: Monday / Thursday Week 2: Tuesday / Friday / Sunday Week 3: Wednesday / Saturday About the Role: Our client is looking for passionate and dedicated Youth Support Workers to join a brand-new supported accommodation service in Cheltenham. Youll be supporting young people aged 1618 to gain the skills, confidence, and independence needed to transition successfully into adult life. Working within a structured 3-week rolling rota, youll provide practical and emotional support, teach essential life skills, and help each young person achieve their goals within a safe and supportive group home setting. Key Responsibilities Provide daily support in line with individual support plans and risk assessments. Teach and promote independent living skills such as cooking, budgeting, cleaning, and managing appointments. Encourage engagement in education, training, or employment opportunities. Promote wellbeing, inclusion, and healthy lifestyle choices. Build trusting, professional relationships and act as a positive role model. Maintain accurate records and comply with Ofsted Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023. Work collaboratively with colleagues, managers, and external professionals. About You Essential: Experience working with young people (in care, youth work, education, or supported accommodation). Strong communication and teamwork skills. Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries. Ability to support and teach independence skills. Flexibility to work a rota including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins. Desirable: NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People / Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards). Knowledge of care leavers and vulnerable young people. Full UK driving licence.
