Job Summary The Service Advisor is the primary link between customers and the workshop. They are responsible for welcoming customers, understanding their vehicle concerns, translating technical issues into clear explanations, and ensuring a smooth service experience from check-in to vehicle handover. The role combines customer service, basic technical understanding, scheduling, and sales support. Key Responsibilities: Customer Service & Communication Greet customers and listen carefully to their vehicle concerns. Explain recommended repairs and maintenance in a clear, non-technical way. Provide accurate estimates of cost and turnaround time. Keep customers informed about progress, delays, or additional work required. Handle customer questions, complaints, and follow-ups professionally. Job Card & Workflow Management Open and manage job cards/work orders. Record customer concerns and technician findings accurately. Schedule vehicles and coordinate with technicians to meet deadlines. Prioritize jobs to maintain efficient workshop flow. Sales & Upselling Recommend preventative maintenance and additional services when appropriate. Prepare and present service quotations. Obtain customer approvals before carrying out extra work Vehicle Intake & Handover Carry out vehicle check-in inspections (mileage, damage, accessories). Ensure vehicles are protected while in the workshop. Review completed work with customers at pickup and explain invoices. Administration & Record Keeping Maintain customer and vehicle service histories. Process invoices, warranties, and payments where applicable. Ensure all documentation is completed accurately. Team Coordination Act as a communication bridge between customers, technicians, and management. Support technicians by providing clear job instructions and customer feedback. Assist management with reporting, customer feedback, and workflow improvement.
