What's involved with this role: Job Title: Court Admin Officer Ref: N Tyneside 5269561 Pay rate: £16.10 per hour PAYE This is a part time role. Once full training is given, the working pattern is based over 2 weeks. Week one is half a day on Wednesday and full days on Thursday and Friday. Week two is full days on Monday and Tuesday and half a day on Wednesday. The role: An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Housing Income Team, for the role of Court Officer. This is a challenging and performance driven role, where you will maximise income collection through the delivery of an effective court process. You will need to demonstrate experience of delivering excellent customer service, with strong communication skills, good negotiation skills and a proven track record of meeting targets. In addition, you will have a can-do attitude and be an excellent problem solver, whilst offering a balance between enforcement and support in all areas of the recovery process. Key responsibilities: Manage a caseload of tenancies to recover rent arrears in accordance with current legislation, best practice, and modern recovery techniques Prepare and present cases on behalf of the Council at Court in a formal Court setting, and negotiate settlements in the interests of the council, whilst understanding welfare factors relating to debt recovery in a social housing environment, including the legal process governing tenancy agreements, and repossessions Work within policies and procedures, you will respond to customer enquiries in a professional manner contributing towards the departments aims and objectives Ensuring time is split effectively between written correspondence, preparing cases for court action and inbound and outbound telephone contact to ensure collection and productivity targets are met What the client is looking for: GCSE, Grades 4 or above in Maths and English or equivalent Knowledge of social housing policy and relevant housing legislation Ability to obtain, analyse and present information Ability to negotiate effectively and excellent decision-making skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience of solving complex issues with tenants Customer service focussed and able dealing with people face to face in potentially difficult situations Ability to manage a complex case load How to Apply Quote the Job Title and Reference Number in your application.
