We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health practitioner who holds a qualification in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to be part of the Children\'s and Young People\'s Mental Health Support Teams across the Black Country.
The mental health support team (MHST) provides CBT, guided self-help, parenting support, with a focus on development of whole school approaches to mental health and wellbeing and the development of the think family approaches within the schools environment.
About us
This post will form part of a Mental Health Support Team service across the Black Country. The post holder will be working as part of the MHST service, leading the teams in partnership with the other Clinical and Team Leaders to ensure the service provides early intervention and promotes good mental well-being to children and young people. The post holder will be expected to work in partnership with professionals in schools and parents/carers to plan support for children and young people beyond one-to-one intervention (e.g., assemblies and supportive training). The post holder will be responsible for developing strong relationships with CYP MH services across the Black Country including CAMHS to ensure the most informed care pathways for children and young people.
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day clinical supervision of staff with BABCP accreditation and those working towards it and leadership to the assigned MHST.

Job responsibilities
* Effective triaging of referrals across the Black Country.
* Provide specialist assessments of children and young people referred to the service.
* Develop, implement and review a range of evidence-based treatment plans informed by clinical assessment and the specific needs of the individual within their wider social context.
* Provide clinical supervision and leadership to the assigned MHST and staff from all locality teams where appropriate.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of CPD programmes for staff.
* Work with MHST Team Leads to ensure delivery of the MHST action plan, highlight risk and plan mitigation, escalating where necessary.
* Review referral pathways, ensuring they are informed and effectively utilised.
* Lead on developing relationships with other services that support CYP.
* Work closely with professionals in schools, developing referral pathways and planning engagement with the schools.
* Contribute to strategic planning to ensure the needs of children, young people, parents/carers and schools inform service development.
We are looking for a highly motivated mental health practitioner with BABCP accreditation, able to carry out in-depth mental health assessments including risk assessments. Applicants should have experience working with a wide variety of children and young people in clinical settings and be passionate about developing and working with schools to develop referral pathways. Leadership experience is important, but the essential skills and values to clinically lead and support a busy, adaptable team are required. Experience delivering mental health promotional collaborative work with schools is vital. Applicants should have experience providing case management supervision to CAMHS staff, students or other team professionals.
Essential qualities include excellent communication skills and the ability to network with agencies such as Schools, Public Health, and Local Authorities. This post is flexible across the Black Country and may involve remote work from home.
