Job Summary
Radiographer (Bank) – Plymouth Hospital (Derriford, Plymouth). Part‑time, ad‑hoc bank shift work. Pay up to £18.00 per hour, dependent on experience. The role is non‑contractual and duties are scheduled on an on‑call basis to meet clinical demand.
Responsibilities
* Deliver a high‑quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload – within the department, on the ward and in theatre.
* Work with leading practitioners and engage with new practices, equipment and facilities.
* Act as clinical lead by scoping and developing policies, procedures and clinical quality improvement initiatives.
* Supervise and develop junior staff members.
* Provide service of the highest quality, delivered with sensitivity and compassion.
Qualifications
* BSc degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent) meeting HCPC registration requirements.
* Postgraduate qualification in a recognised area of specialisation.
* Radiation Protection Supervisor training and/or qualification (desirable).
* Post‑registration experience relevant to the role.
* Excellent communication and team‑working abilities.
* High levels of technical knowledge, quick and accurate work, with a keen eye for detail.
* A caring nature – seeing each patient as an individual and carrying out the role with understanding and empathy.
Additional Requirements
Applicants must hold current UK professional registration and be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
