Based inSurrey, the Orpheus Centre is an independent specialist college and charitythat focuses on developing independence skills through performing and visualarts and makes dramatic improvements to young disabled adults’ lives. We are currently looking for a driven and pro-active Events Fundraiser to develop, coordinate and deliver the charity’sfundraising events and orchestrate experiences from initial concept to postevent analysis. This includes pre-event planning and development, conceptdevelopment and proposal.

Working closely with the Head of CapitalAppeal and Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, you will design anddeliver events which steward and develop key contacts as part of our CapitalAppeal.

The role holder will have strong administration skills, attention todetail and work as part of a team. Youwill be self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, managing awide range of tasks.

35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year

Essentialqualifications, knowledge and experience:

* 5 GCSEs(Grade C or above) or equivalent including Maths and English OR demonstrableliteracy and numeracy
* Willing toundertake training as required and identified in supervision/appraisals
* At least2yrs experience of fundraising, marketing or events in a paid or voluntarycapacity
* Has workedas part of a team
* Has setand worked to budgets, targets and plans
* Practicalexperience of planning and managing events
* Experiencecoordinating projects and people
* Knowledgeof different methods of fundraising
* Awarenessof how to motivate and support volunteers and supporters
* Basicawareness of PR and social media
* Goodcommunication and presentation skills
* Highlevels of accuracy in written materials and data entry
* Excellentorganisational skills with ability to work on own initiative under pressure& without direct supervision
* Excellentinterpersonal and networking skills
* Able tobuild and maintain good working relationships with people
* Able toprioritise, plan and organise own workload including demonstrable experience ofmanaging a diverse workload and working to strict deadlines under pressure
* Numerate
* Good ITskills including Microsoft office, email and data recording
* Able andwilling to work unsocial hours
* Carowner/driver (full, clean UK driving licence)
* Able towork some evening and weekends.
