Responsibilities
On a day‑to‑day basis, you will represent the council’s and Swindon’s interests (acting as commissioner/client/partner in varying relationships) and work with external providers to ensure they make effective contributions to the delivery of priorities on Regeneration, Town Centre vitality, growth and positioning Swindon as a great place to live, work, visit and invest. You will lead or oversee key projects and programmes which will deliver place‑making outcomes and key enabling infrastructure, aligned with a wide range of place‑focused delivery plans (Economy, Heritage, Transport etc.) including the Draft Local Plan 2043. You will manage and develop relationships and agreements with landowners, developers, investors, businesses, central government and wider partners with the objective of achieving continuous improvement in quality of place, built environment and the expanded offer of activities for residents.
Requirements
Experience in urban regeneration, town‑centre planning or a related field. Prior leadership of multi‑disciplinary regeneration programmes is highly desirable. You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer‑facing role”).
