Site Engineer – Calvert (Inside IR35)
About the Role
Our client is delivering major civil engineering works on the UK’s new high-speed rail link and is seeking to recruit a Site Engineer to join the Engineering team based in Calvert.
The Site Engineer will:
Supervise junior engineers on site and assist in day-to-day construction operations.
Liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials effectively.
Work as part of the setting-out team, ensuring quality and accurate delivery of works.
Support and develop junior engineers, ensuring high performance across the team.
Identify and resolve technical problems on site in collaboration with senior engineers and the Sub Agent.
Monitor and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring works are completed to contractual requirements.
Ensure the team has the latest information, drawings and resources to carry out duties.
Assist in producing programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans.
Contribute to financial forecasting and reporting.
About You – Skills & Qualifications
HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent), working towards ICE membership.
Strong knowledge and practical application of site engineering activities and construction supervision.
Proven Structures and Highways experience (essential).
Additional experience in utilities, earthworks or drainage (highly desirable).
Must have own transport (site location is in a remote area).
Full UK driving licence.
Valid CSCS card (White, White-Yellow, Red – Experienced, Black – Manager, or Gold – Supervisor).
SMSTS or SSSTS qualification
