You’ll work closely with senior leadership to identify and secure new business opportunities, foster strong client relationships, and drive growth in line with a strategic business plan. Your duties and responsibilities will be Supporting the Defence Sector Director in developing and executing business strategies for both public and private defence-related markets. Engaging with clients, partners, and stakeholders to promote the organisation’s capabilities and expertise. Attending sector pipeline meetings and contributing to the identification and assessment of new opportunities. Maintaining market intelligence and competitor insight using Salesforce or other systems. Preparing bid strategy assessments, supporting the development of EOIs and PQQs, and attending tender kick-off meetings. Promoting a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and sustainability across all business development activities. You will have the following qualifications & experience: Minimum 5 years of experience within the UK Defence Sector, either through service (Regular or Reserve) or via a defence-facing role in government, public sector, or industry. Strong knowledge of the UK construction market and its key players. A solid understanding of procurement legislation and MOD procurement processes. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence at senior levels. Sound commercial awareness and familiarity with business governance and bid procedures. It’s great if you also have the following: Established relationships within the defence and infrastructure community. Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems. An understanding of sustainability and innovation in construction and defence projects. A proactive, “can-do” approach to business development and strategic growth.
