Phlebotomist Relief Role at Boots
Hourly Rate: £12.36 and up to £13.53 across selected locations within London.
Travel: This role involves travelling to stores around the region. Travel expenses are covered by Boots. A full driving licence and access to a car are necessary due to travel requirements. Only Phlebotomists with at least 12 months of practical experience will be considered.
Travel Details: Travel to multiple locations up to 60 minutes. All travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Are you passionate about customer care and delivering excellent pharmacy services? We are seeking Phlebotomists to join our healthcare teams, playing a key role in delivering phlebotomy services to the local community.
About the Opportunity
Our Future Health is a charity partnering with the NHS, aiming to be the UK’s largest health research programme. It collects information from millions of volunteers across the UK to develop new ways to prevent, detect, and treat diseases, including dementia, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.
Your role as a Phlebotomist will involve greeting volunteers, verifying their details, taking health measurements, and venous blood samples, while maintaining the integrity of all participant information and samples.
Main Duties
1. Greeting participants and verifying their details
2. Explaining the phlebotomy procedure
3. Managing appointment bookings for the service
4. Taking measurements such as height, weight, and waist circumference
5. Collecting and maintaining venous blood samples according to UK guidelines
6. Following SOPs and health and safety standards to ensure quality
7. Preparing samples for delivery to the laboratory within required timescales
8. Ordering and maintaining stock of necessary materials
9. Communicating with the pharmacy team to ensure safe service provision
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Phlebotomist is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
* Ability to work calmly under pressure
* Empathetic, approachable, and sensitive interaction skills
* Comfortable with technology and digital tools
* Passion for customer care and healthcare
* Ability to work as part of a busy team
* Willingness to undertake healthcare training at NVQ2 or equivalent
