Forensic Nurse or Paramedic - Staines - Custody

* £1500 sign-on bonus (pro-rata for part-time).
* £500 referral bonus for healthcare professionals referred to us.
* We will pay £120 NMC registration fees per year.
* We will pay £98.12 HCPC registration fees per year.

Main duties of the job

Duties include:

* Forensic sampling (including blood samples for road traffic offences).
* Signposting, referrals, supporting vulnerabilities, and helping patients break re-offending patterns.
* Delivering substance misuse therapies.
* Assessing and caring for detainees and staff in custody suites.
* Promoting good personal healthcare.
* Working with Liaison and Diversion to identify mental health needs.

Job responsibilities

This role is suitable for RGN and qualified Paramedics with over 3 years' post-qualification experience.

Custody environments are dynamic, with no two days the same. Detainees can be held up to 24 hours, requiring high-quality care for issues like substance dependency or acute medical episodes.

Our professionals are trained to collect forensic samples aiding police investigations. Experience in forensics is NOT required. You will work closely with police and receive training to become an accredited Forensic Practitioner.

If you seek a better work-life balance, this role offers clear boundaries. The 2-on-6-off rota allows planning months in advance, with shifts comprising two days, two nights, then four days off.

This is a part-time position based at Salfords Police Custody Suite.

We will conduct interviews as applications arrive and may close the advert early once filled, so apply promptly.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic.


Experience

* Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience.
* Experience in A&E, walk-in centres, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, prisons, or as a Paramedic Practitioner is advantageous but not mandatory.


Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This role requires a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
