What you will be doing:
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead and deliver large, complex projects (up to £m in value) with responsibility for developing the delivery strategy and progressing the project through engineering, procurement, and construction phases to final handover. You’ll showcase your strong project management capability to maximise safe and efficient delivery of the work, as well as proactively managing interfaces with stakeholders, accurately reporting on key issues, progress, risks, and opportunities.
1. Develop, plan, control, coordinate, and execute the project, exceeding the project parameters by proactively monitoring and analysing performance at tranche and project levels.
2. Lead, organise, direct, and manage the project team and supporting staff.
3. Identify resource requirements and support requirements, liaising with business unit managers.
4. Ensure the health, safety, and environment performance of all operations under your control is managed to the highest standards, and that appropriate action is taken whenever operations fail to meet legal or company standards.
5. Develop the delivery strategy to meet the project KPIs.
6. Ensure adherence to the Asset Lifecycle Process (ALP), managing stages as required.
7. Manage project/tranche governance professionally.
8. Identify, manage risks and opportunities, put contingency plans in place, and report accordingly.
9. Keep accurate records in line with company requirements.
10. Ensure projects meet quality KPIs and apply corrective management where appropriate.
11. Manage stakeholder relationships and communication, including the supply chain.
12. Monitor project performance and provide reports on progress, performance against budget, key issues, mitigations, and future forecasts.
13. Deliver projects following BMS processes and procedures, applying best practices and continuous improvement to meet efficiency targets.
14. Manage, reduce, and eliminate unnecessary costs and activities.
15. Collaborate with client team members to meet project KPIs and jointly develop performance reports.
About You:
* Passionate, with strong leadership skills.
* Proven track record in delivering multidisciplinary projects within the Highways industry (preferably).
* Extensive project management capabilities.
