Join to apply for the Electrical Engineer (M/F/D)* role at TGW Logistics.
We are excited to announce openings for the role of Systems and Hardware Engineer - Controls, based in Market Harborough. This role involves managing the electrical and hardware aspects of controls systems, translating mechanical designs into functional solutions. Responsibilities include creating Sensor Actuator Layouts (SALs) and developing ePLAN schematics, ensuring compliance with performance standards and regional and company requirements.
What you'll be handling:
1. Reviewing mechanical layouts (x-refs) and populating them with electrical and controls hardware components.
2. Producing detailed design documentation, including SAL drawings, cable routes, Bill of Materials, and calculations.
3. Ensuring control system components and architectures meet design limitations such as Cable Capacity, Voltage Drop, Fault Currents, and network runs.
4. Creating schematic circuit diagrams and reports using ePLAN.
5. Applying standard installation components and providing cost-effective alternatives when necessary.
6. Designing interfaces to third-party controls.
7. Supporting on-site teams with technical guidance on design and electrical installation.
What you'll need:
Essential:
* Deep understanding of control system hardware and design principles, including low voltage gear, networks, fieldbus systems, drives, and barcode systems.
* Proficiency with CAD tools like ePLAN and AUTOCAD for schematic and layout generation.
* Ability to collaborate effectively within a team of engineers to deliver projects.
Desirable:
* Experience in Material Handling/Conveyor Industry or similar sectors.
* Knowledge of relevant British and European standards in controls automation.
