Base pay range
We are looking for a passionate and driven person to lead land management and livestock operations supporting conservation objectives on the Lower Lough Erne reserve.
The successful candidate will coordinate the reserve team to achieve the best outcomes for wildlife on the reserve.
Position Details
* Location: Enniskillen and Lower Lough Erne Islands
* Contract: Permanent
* Hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week

About the Reserve
Lower Lough Erne reserve, in Co. Fermanagh, is the most westerly RSPB reserve in the UK and the oldest in Northern Ireland. It comprises 47 islands across the second-largest freshwater lake in the UK, supporting important breeding waders, rare species, and unique habitats accessible mainly by boat.
About the Role
The post-holder will lead the team in delivering site objectives, develop a five-year management plan, and oversee ecological, health and safety, and animal welfare standards. Responsibilities include managing livestock, infrastructure, machinery, predator control, and working with external partners.
Minimum Requirements
* Higher education in environmental land management or agriculture
* Extensive knowledge of reserve management and environmental land management
* Experience with farming systems, livestock infrastructure, and legislative requirements
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Practical land management, machinery operation, and maintenance skills
* Ability to work independently, motivate others, and influence compliance
* Driving license, computer literacy, good organization skills
* Boat handling skills or willingness to learn
* Strong English communication skills
* Training and facilitation skills
* Practical estate and livestock management experience
