Looking for a role where your expertise can truly make an impact? We’re on the hunt for 3 passionate Connections Engineers to join our Connections Business Development Team at Northern Powergrid.
We welcome candidates with qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering and experience across different levels:
* Junior roles: Plant Engineer, CAD Engineer, Power Systems Engineer, Project Engineer, Cables Engineer, Protection Engineer, Project Manager (2-3 years industry experience)
* Mid/Senior roles: Project Managers, Power Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, Connections Engineer
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on major projects connecting large factories and power stations to our extra high voltage networks, playing a critical part in the UK's decarbonisation and Clean Power 2030 initiative.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver quotation services for EHV connections on time and within licence requirements
* Manage the EHV customer experience and relationship from first approach to final connection
* Engage with customers to develop innovative and flexible connection solutions supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and charging policies
* Produce executive-level quotation approval documentation
* Interpret technical appraisal documentation and create effective contracts
* Manage commercial and legal documentation for connections contracts
* Oversee project financial governance and closure routines
Key Competencies
* Strong written and spoken communication skills
* Ability to deliver high-quality documentation in a commercial environment
* Build and maintain exceptional customer relationships
* Sound decision-making and effective team working
Qualifications and Attributes
Essential:
* HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
* Degree or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering
* Project Management qualifications
* Experience in the electricity industry (connections) regulated environment
* Legal and contract law experience
* Project/Programme management experience
