The North Pennines National Landscape Partnership is looking for a manager to complete the ground-breaking nature recovery and engagement programme, Tees-Swale – naturally connected. The delivery phase of this project began in 2020 and is now nearing completion. You will oversee the remaining delivery/reporting, final evaluation and legacy planning of the programme. This position is temporary until 30 September 2026. If you have an in-depth knowledge of conservation and a strong understanding of farmers and farming, can build and sustain relationships with people and organisations, and can manage a major NLHF programme, professional staff and complex budgets, then we’d like to hear from you. WHAT IS INVOLVED? Tees-Swale is led by the North Pennines National Landscape Partnership, with the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, and covers nearly 850km2 of outstanding Protected Landscape. The team is supported by a programme Board, chaired by Sir John Lawton. We aim to demonstrate how — by working in tandem with our High Nature Value farmers in particular — we can conserve, restore, expand and connect priority habitats on an unprecedented scale; at the same time, this work will deliver multiple other public benefits including climate change mitigation, flood-risk management and increasing people’s well-being. You should hold a degree or equivalent and have substantial experience of successfully managing complex multi-partner projects relating to the conservation of natural beauty or land management.
