Exciting opportunity now available for an experienced, proactive Logistics & 3PL Managerto join this multi-national technology company. Their business continues to go from strength to strength delivering a vast product rangeof innovative and efficient technologies for the retail POS, networking, security, healthcare, ergonomics and mobility markets.
The Role
This is an integral role reporting to the Operations Manager, overseeing their ANZ supply chain operations, with a strong emphasis on international shipping, third-party logistics (3PL) (as both a customer and vendor) and exceptional customer communication. The Logistics Manager will drive cost-saving initiatives while ensuring seamless logistics processes and high customer satisfaction.
Duties and responsibilities
* International Shipping Management: - Plan, coordinate, and monitor international freight movements, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, trade laws, and shipping requirements. - Negotiate contracts and rates with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to optimize shipping routes and reduce costs. - Manage documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and certificates of origin, to ensure smooth cross-border operations.
* Third-Party Logistics (3PL):
* As a customer - Select, onboard, and manage 3PL providers to support warehousing, distribution, and transportation needs. - Monitor 3PL performance through KPIs such as on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and cost efficiency. - Collaborate with 3PL partners to implement process improvements and technology integrations for enhanced operational efficiency.
* As a vendor - Develop processes to ensure exceptional service and accuracy for 3PL services provided to customers. - Understand and analyse costs and develop pricing model to ensure a profitable return for offering 3PL services to customers. - Communication to staff and customers to set clear expectations and to ensure all requirements are met in the services provided.
* Customer Communication: - Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding logistics inquiries, order status, and issue resolution. - Provide proactive updates on shipment statuses, delays, or disruptions to maintain transparency and trust. - Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, addressing their unique logistics needs and ensuring high satisfaction levels.
* Cost-Saving Initiatives: - identify and implement strategies to reduce transportation, warehousing, and inventory holding costs without compromising service quality. - Analyse logistics data to optimize supply chain processes, such as consolidating shipments or selecting cost-effective carriers. - Conduct regular cost-benefit analyses to evaluate new tools, technologies, or partnerships that enhance cost efficiency.
* Team Leadership and Process Improvement: - Lead and mentor a team of logistics administrators, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. - Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for logistics operations to ensure consistency and efficiency. - Leverage logistics software and ERP systems to streamline operations and improve visibility across the supply chain.
The Candidate
To be succesful in this position you need:
* Qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 2 years focused on international shipping and 3PL management.
* Experience managing logistics across for operations in both Australia and New Zealand and achieving consolidated cost savings.
* Proven performance setting up and managing 3PL services to be offered to customers.
* Proven track record of implementing cost-saving initiatives in logistics operations.
* Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, Incoterms, and customs compliance.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience managing customer relationships.
* Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP systems) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
* Certification in logistics or supply chain (e.g., APICS, CSCP, or CLTD) is a plus.
* Strategic thinking and problem-solving.

* Customer-centric approach.
* Analytical mindset with a focus on cost optimization.
Subsequent to achieving results in ANZ, the role may expand to include Sektor’s operations in Thailand & Malaysia or potentially further abroad.This position will include regular (bi-monthly) travel to Perth and/or New Zealand with potential travel to Thailand and Malaysia if role expands
