About the Role
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a forward-thinking consultancy in Plymouth. This is an exciting opportunity to work on sustainable, low-carbon building projects across residential, education, commercial, and public sectors.
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be involved in all stages of design—from concept through to technical delivery—helping to create energy-efficient, environmentally responsible buildings.
Key Responsibilities
Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency, and fire alarm systems
Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and calculations using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design/BIM tools
Conduct site visits and surveys to gather data and verify design solutions
Collaborate with mechanical, public health, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver fully coordinated MEP designs
Ensure all designs comply with BS 7671, CIBSE guidance, and UK building regulations
Assist in tender documentation and liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams
Contribute to sustainable, low-carbon design initiatives across projects
Candidate Profile
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
2–5 years’ experience in electrical building services design consultancy
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical calculation software
Strong knowledge of UK wiring regulations (BS 7671) and CIBSE standards
Passion for sustainable design and energy-efficient building solutions
Excellent communication, collaboration, and team-working skills
Full UK driving licence preferred
