Special Needs Teaching Assistants
to join a group of mainstream and specialist schools across
Harrow
from
September 2025
. These are full-time positions supporting students with
ASD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and PMLD
, with several vacancies available.
The Role - Special Needs Teaching Assistant in Harrow
* Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
* Support pupils with a range of needs on a 1:1 or small group basis
* Follow individual EHCP targets under guidance from the class teacher and SENCO
* Assist with behaviour management, sensory regulation, and social-emotional support
* Support with personal care or mobility when required
* Work across early years, primary, or secondary depending on experience and preference
Essential Requirements
* Minimum 6 months of experience supporting children or young people with SEND
* Confident working with students with ASD, SEMH, or complex needs
* Able to commit to full-time hours in Harrow
* Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working as part of a structured team
Desirables
* Experience using PECS or Makaton
* Team Teach or other de-escalation training
* Experience in a specialist provision or ARP
* Background in care, youth work, or psychology
