# Assistant Head CoachOrganisation:: Sittingbourne and Milton Swimming ClubContract Type:: VoluntaryQualifications:: Water Safety: RLSS National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC): Coaching Swimming: Swimming Coach Certificate or Level 2 AwardWorking Hours:: Part timeLocation:: SittingbourneClosing Date:: 18th June 2026 23:59ApplySittingbourne and Milton Swimming Club, a competitive club in Kent, is looking for an Assistant Head Coach to work alongside our Head Coach and our ever-expanding team of swim coaches and teachers to enable us to continue our recent growth.Working alongside the Head Coach in supporting the whole coaching team and assisting in the development of junior coaches, the successful candidate will:* Attend specified competitions, including open meets, home competitions, and County/Regional/National championships.* Plan and manage the development of individual athletes under your supervision, including meetings with swimmers and their parents to discuss their development and their goals throughout the season.* Assist ~~t~~he Head Coach in planning the annual competition calendar, highlighting target meets and making sure our calendar meets the needs of the whole club.* Assist in team selections for the Kent Junior League* Foster and promote an inclusive environment and create opportunities for all to train and compete to their level and fulfil their full potential.The Assistant Head Coach will have:* Practical coaching experience within the club environment with a range of ages and swimming abilities.* Minimum coaching qualifications: UKCC Level 2 Coaching/Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate.* Successful experience of coaching swimmers to a minimum of Regional competitive standard.* Knowledge of long-term development practices in line with the Optimal Athlete Development Framework and Swim England’s progression pathways.* The ability to plan training sessions for competitive standard swimmers across sessions, cycles and the season.* Good communication skills in a variety of environments and media.* Well-developed administrative and organisational skills.* Experience in managing other coaches* Experience qualifications.The Assistant Head Coach will be:* Committed to developing young athletes in line with the Head Coach’s vision for the club.* Able to display and instil strong and inspiring leadership qualities.* A strong team player, capable of integrating their own ideas with those of the Head Coach and coaching team.* Capable of planning and delivering against identified goals.* A self-starter capable of creating new ideas and implementing them.* Available to coach morning, evening and weekend training sessions as well as attending regular competitions.* Committed to equity and diversity.Qualifications:* ASA Swimming Coach Award/Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate* NRASTC qualification is desirable but not compulsory, willing to train if successful* Safeguarding in swimming## How to applyTo apply, please send a C.V. via the apply button.
