Wakefield Council Children's services are seeking to recruit a family support worker to join a new pilot project they are launching. The role is hybrid working with a mixture of home working, visits in the community with service users and office based work. As such, there is a requirement for the successful candidate to be a car driver as you will still be providing face-to-face support to families where applicable. The role is part of a new pilot project to provide support to children aged 10 and above where being in care would be seen as detrimental to their life outcomes. Duties of the role will include: Practical support with home conditions, health appointments, budgeting skills and school attendance. Emotional support in promoting the safe well-being of both the children and parents/carers. Information support with parenting techniques and meeting the daily needs of the children Social support in helping to build and maintain a family and friends’ networkThe ideal candidate will have: Experience of working with young people and their families Full UK driving license Enhanced DBS check Be able to work upon own initiative and within a teamThe role is a temporary, full time position for an initial period of 3 months with a view to this being extended on a rolling basis and is offering a pay rate of £16.62ph (£21.58 per hour via an umbrella company).
