Lead M&E Quantity Surveyor position based in Billericay, Essex. Hybrid/Flexi working available.

The Company
Our client is an M&E Specialist Contractor working in the Super-Prime Residential sector for high-profile clients across the UK with a 20+ year history. Turnover in excess of £10m; projects typically range from £1.5m to £2.5m, with higher values up to around £6m MEP. Clients include WaterLilly, WestGreen, and others.
The Role
This is a brilliant opportunity to join a close-knit, collaborative contractor seeking their next Lead QS to oversee commercial activities and ensure monitoring and control of all commercial functions.
* Prepare accurate, competitive, and detailed cost estimates for mechanical and electrical packages across high-end/luxury fit-out and refurbishment schemes
* Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring effective cost control and alignment with financial forecasts
* Lead the preparation of tender documentation, including BoQs, specifications, and contractual scopes for M&E works
* Produce and maintain cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and valuations throughout the project lifecycle
* Assist in procurement of subcontractors, materials, and plant – negotiating terms to deliver best value
* Provide commercial support to project teams, resolving contract variations and advising on risk management
* Attend site meetings and liaise with delivery teams to ensure that commercial and financial targets are met
Candidate Profile
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline
* Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within a main contractor or M&E subcontractor environment
* Strong understanding of M&E systems and terminology, particularly in complex refurbishment and fit-out projects
* Proficient in preparing cost plans, procurement strategies, and commercial reporting
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills; confident dealing with internal and external stakeholders
* Driven, commercially astute, and eager to grow within a business that champions autonomy and internal progression
