We are seeking an experienced, passionate and strategic SENCO to join a dedicated team in Northampton. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed practitioner to lead and develop high-quality SEND provision across the school.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all pupils with additional needs receive outstanding support, enabling them to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the school’s SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice
Identify and assess pupils with special educational needs and coordinate appropriate support
Develop and review EHCPs and provision maps
Work closely with staff, parents, external agencies and the Local Authority
Provide guidance, training and support to colleagues to ensure inclusive classroom practice
Monitor progress of SEND pupils and report to SLT and governors
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
The National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to complete it
Proven experience supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs
Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
A commitment to inclusion and raising outcomes for all learners
This role is 3 days a week, Pro rata.
