Romford Secondary School looking to recruit a resilient and proactive Teaching Assistant to work across Year 7 - 11. This is a mainstream role, with a particular focus on providing additional support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) both in and out of the classroom. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and pastoral teams to help the students reach their academic, social and emotional potential. Monday, 8.30am - 4.10pm and Tuesday to Friday 8.30am - 3.10pm. Key Responsibilities: * Provide tailored support to SEN students across Key Stages 3 and 4. * Assist with the delivery of the secondary curriculum. * Support the students in managing their social, emotional, and behavioural needs. * Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment. * Reinforce class teaching, help explain tasks, and encourage engagement. * Support teachers with classroom management and preparation of learning materials. * Build positive working relationships with students, helping them to develope confidence and independence. Essential: * Maths and English GCSE (Grade C/4 or above) * Understanding of the secondary curriculum (KS3–KS4) * Ability to work calmly and effectively with teenagers * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * A resilient, patient, and compassionate approach * Ability to support students with a range of SEN (eg. Autism, ADHD and Learning Difficulties) * Willingness to support the students’ social and emotional development.
