Outpatients Receptionist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, personable, dynamic, and self-motivated individual to join the Patient Access Team as an Outpatients Receptionist.

The Outpatient Department works closely with a number of government targets around patient waiting times. Your duties will involve:

1. Making patient appointments using the computerised appointment system
2. Applying knowledge of targets and clinic types
3. Rearranging appointments
4. Dealing with patients and queries from internal and external contacts face-to-face and over the phone
5. Providing efficient and effective administrative support

We are looking for candidates who have a good basic education, GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English, and possess clear, concise verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and carers. You should work well in a team, feel comfortable working under pressure, and support the patient journey from referral to discharge.

Key responsibilities include:

* Providing excellent service to patients, relatives, and carers
* Maintaining comprehensive administration, booking, and appointment services for outpatients while ensuring compliance with waiting time targets
* Supporting the Patient Administration Service and providing cross-cover for staff to maintain service consistency
