Overview
We are recruiting 'New to Care' Support Workers to join Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust on a 12 month training contract with progression opportunity to a substantive Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker role if training and development is successfully completed. Responsibilities
* As a Care Support Worker, you will carry out assigned tasks involving direct patient care in support of and supervised by a Registered Nurse. You will work as a valued member of the ward/department team, assisting with nursing procedures according to agreed policies.
* Support patients with activities of daily living such as personal care, mobility and nutrition.
* Help to maintain a safe clinical environment.
* Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and colleagues.
* Assist nursing and medical staff with basic clinical tasks.
* Work a combination of days, nights and weekends including Bank Holidays and Christmas Day.
* Shift patterns include: Early 07:15–15:15; Late 12:15–20:15; Night 19:45–07:45; Long Day 07:15–20:15.
Requirements and Training
* Applicants must be able to work at least 30 hours per week to meet the training needs of this post.
* Unfortunately this role is not eligible for sponsorship; the Trust is unable to provide sponsorship to applicants.

* As part of the training contract, successful candidates will attend and participate in classroom and ward/department based teachings. They must complete all mandatory and essential training as directed by the Trust, as well as the National Care Certificate.
