The Role As a Transport Planner, youll take ownership of daily vehicle scheduling and route optimisation.
Youll coordinate with drivers, sub-contractors, and customers to ensure all deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
From planning and allocating jobs to resolving live operational challenges, youll be at the heart of keeping transport operations moving seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities Plan, schedule, and optimise daily transport routes across the UK & Ireland Communicate clearly with drivers, customers, and internal departments Monitor progress and maintain high service levels and compliance standards Conduct driver pre-briefs and debriefs Manage live operational issues with a calm, solution-focused approach Contribute to KPI reporting and performance improvement initiatives The client is looking for someone with hands-on experience in a busy transport office who enjoys problem-solving and thrives under pressure.
Essential Criteria: Previous experience in Transport Planning or Fleet Coordination Strong working knowledge of UK & Ireland geography Understanding of Tachograph Regulations and the Working Time Directive Excellent organisational and communication skills Ability to stay composed and proactive in a fast-paced environment Benefits Monday-Friday working week (with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings on rotation) Ongoing training and professional development Long-term stability in a well-established company A supportive, team-oriented culture with a focus on service excellence Competitive salary
