About the Role
We’re looking for a caring and adaptable SEN Teacher to join a dedicated specialist school in Newcastle. The role involves teaching pupils aged 7–19 with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
You’ll design and deliver creative, multi-sensory lessons that celebrate every small step of progress — helping pupils grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity.

Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning styles and needs
* Support emotional and social development through positive behaviour strategies
* Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver individual education plans (IEPs)
* Monitor and assess progress, maintaining regular contact with parents and carers
* Contribute to a caring, inclusive, and inspiring school environment

Person Specification
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS) or equivalent
* Passionate about SEND teaching, ideally with experience in autism education
* Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
* Positive, flexible approach and genuine commitment to pupil wellbeing
* Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and SEND legislation

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
