As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase, you will lead a technical area within the Commercial and Investment Banking Payments Technology team and drive impact across teams, technologies, and projects. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to manage multiple complex projects and initiatives, serving as a primary decision-maker and a driver of innovation and solution delivery.

Job responsibilities
1. Lead technology and process implementations to achieve functional objectives.
2. Be accountable for decisions affecting resources, budgets, operations, and process execution.
3. Ensure governance over coding decisions, control obligations, and success metrics like cost of ownership and maintainability.
4. Deliver technical solutions applicable across multiple business domains.
5. Influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams.
6. Promote the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
7. Deep expertise in cloud implementations and security controls.
8. Adopt emerging technologies including AI and ML.
9. Implement reliable platforms with high availability (3 nines or more).
10. Maintain a problem-solving mindset.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
1. Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and extensive experience leading technologists to solve complex technical challenges.
2. Experience managing and developing cross-functional technical teams.
3. Proven ability in hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
4. Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager.
5. Practical experience with cloud-native architectures.
6. Expertise in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
7. Deep knowledge of technologies such as Pyspark, AWS Cloud, Databricks, Java.
8. Experience implementing scaled platforms.
9. Excellent communication skills for diverse stakeholder engagement.

2. Understanding of EMEA regulations.
3. Adept at working across multiple time zones.
4. Subject matter expertise in Payments.
