Hays are working with a reputable business based in Shrewsbury who are looking to recruit a someone to coordinate the day‑to‑day operation of the warehouse and ensure the smooth flow of materials into production lines. The Warehouse & Production Coordinator is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and dispatching materials and finished goods, while also supporting and overseeing production line material requirements.
This role ensures production lines are continuously supplied, customer orders are fulfilled accurately, and all stock movements are recorded correctly in the ERP system. The position also involves coordinating transport, maintaining stock accuracy, and supervising one Materials / Stores Operative.
Your new role
As a Warehouse and Production Coordinator, your role will involve:
1. Warehouse & Materials Control.
2. Receive, inspect, and book in all deliveries, ensuring quality and quantity checks arepleted.
3. Maintain accurate ERP records for all goods received, issued, transferred, and dispatched.
4. Organise and maintain warehouse layout, racking, and storage standards.
5. Ensure safe operation and daily checks of warehouse equipment (FLT, pallet trucks, stackers).
6. Quarantine and report non‑conforming or damaged materials.
7. Production Line Coordination.
8. Ensure production lines receive the correct materials on time and in full.
9. Issue production orders and pick materials in line with production schedules.
10. Work closely with Production Supervisors to prioritise material flow and respond to changing requirements.
11. Monitor material consumption and proactively replenish line‑side stock.
12. Support changeovers and ensure materials for the next build are staged and ready.
13. Stock Accuracy & Inventory Control
14. Lead regular stock checks and cycle counts.
15. Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
16. Manage goods movements to and from third‑party processors.
17. Dispatch & Logistics
18. Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for dispatch.
19. Arrange collections and deliveries with approved carriers.
20. Prepare shipping and transport documentation.
21. Supervise and support the Materials / Stores Operative.
22. Promote safe working practices and maintain a clean, organised warehouse.
23. Contribute to continuous improvement in warehouse and production material flow processes.
24. Support cross‑training and development within the warehouse team

Experience & Education3–5 years’ experience in warehouse coordination, materials control, or production support within manufacturing.Experience supporting production lines with accurate and timely material supply.Proven ERP experience (SAP or equivalent).Experience in stock control, cycle counting, and discrepancy resolution.Experience coordinating transport and logistics.Understanding of health & safety and quality standards.
