Start Date: 01/09/2026
Are you ready to be a champion for student success? Join us as an Internal Alternative Provision Coordinator, where you will play a critical role in supporting students who are at risk of suspension due to challenging behaviour. Your focus will be on promoting positive discipline, raising student aspirations, and ensuring they continue to make academic progress while working towards a successful return to mainstream lessons. This position is perfect for someone passionate about removing academic and behavioural barriers to learning, ensuring all students thrive in a supportive educational setting.
This is a permanent role and the working pattern is Monday to Thursday, 08:00am until 04:00pm and Fridays 08:00am until 03:30pm.
Key Responsibilities:
* Student Support & Guided Teaching: Plan and deliver structured opportunities, guided teaching, and 1:1 or small group sessions focused on academic progress, social skills, resilience, and self-confidence.
* Behaviour & Wellbeing Intervention: Deliver targeted interventions addressing students social, emotional, and mental health needs, reinforcing the core values of being safe, respectful, and responsible.
* Reintegration & Monitoring: Adapt student timetables to facilitate their return to mainstream education. Conduct lesson visits and provide academic mentoring to support reintegration and prevent repeat referrals.
* Collaboration & Strategy: Work closely with Learning Managers, the Inclusion Team, and senior leadership to develop referral processes and implement effective intervention strategies.
* Communication: Maintain regular contact with parents and carers to provide feedback, and collaborate with academy staff to share effective classroom strategies for student success.
* Administration: Assist with after-school detentions by coordinating learning activities, and maintain up-to-date student records using SIMs, oCloud, and Praising Stars.
What will we do for you?
We offer a supportive package focusing on professional advancement, secure benefits, and work-life balance:
Secure Pay & Pension: Competitive salary, automatic pay progression, and enrolment in the Local Government Pension Scheme.
Training & Progression: Access to diverse CPD opportunities, including apprenticeships and vocational qualifications.
Flexibility & Leave: Flexible family policies, enhanced occupational benefits (with no qualifying period), and 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays for non-term time staff. (Holiday for part-time staff is calculated on a pro-rata basis)
Wellbeing & Perks: Dedicated mental well-being strategy, free on-site parking, employee discounts, and access to a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme.
