Join our team at the Guardian and play a central role in how we speak to our most engaged readers every day.
We're looking for a deputy editor/writer, Newsletters – a key editorial figure at the heart of our growing newsletters operation, who will also deputise on First Edition, the Guardian's flagship morning newsletter. In this high-profile role, you'll help shape the voice, rhythm and ambition of our newsletters, working across the departments to turn our journalism into must-read emails that deepen loyalty and set the day's agenda.
As deputy editor, you'll be a trusted partner to desks and senior editors across the Guardian, refining ideas, sharpening copy and helping define what Guardian newsletters should feel like – authoritative, warm, surprising and unmistakably human. You'll also be a crucial support and creative foil to the lead writer of First Edition, stepping in to write and edit the newsletter, ensuring it lands every morning with clarity, wit and confidence.
This is a role for someone who wants to be inside the engine room of the Guardian's relationship with readers – shaping strategy, influencing coverage and helping to steer one of our most important and visible products.
