An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and enthusiastic nurse to join the Emotional Health and Resilience team within the County Durham 0-25 Service. The post holder will work to improve the lives of children and young people with mental health and emotional needs by delivering excellent services to promote recovery and wellbeing.
The post holder will be integrated within the 0-25 services, providing advice, consultation, training, and professional support for staff in the children’s workforce. This will enable them to effectively address the mental health and emotional needs of children and young people in their care.
The Emotional Health and Resilience team will collaborate with other children and young people's services across County Durham, contributing to the development and implementation of integrated pathways and joint initiatives to ensure timely support for children and young people.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing support and intervention to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate emotional health difficulties.
2. Promoting and maintaining safety, privacy, and dignity in all care delivery, respecting individual differences including spiritual and cultural beliefs.
3. Obtaining patient consent in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act and Fraser Guidelines, ensuring children and young people who lack capacity are safeguarded and involved in decision-making.
4. Maintaining professional standards and evidence-based practice in caring for children and young people with diverse mental health needs, including issues like child abuse and domestic violence.
