Mitie are recruiting Emergency Response Team officers (fire & security role) to be employed at a major account in Oxford. The position is a combined role consisting of emergency response (Security, fire, first aid, & fire prevention and duties)
Responsible for daily operations in accordance with BMW and Mitie policy and procedures within the confines of UK workplace and H&S regulations, best practice and law.
To manage the day to day operational requirements of the contract in line with customer and contractual expectations. To be the initial contact on operational security matters, ensuring a consistent quality service delivery and prompt responses to all incidents.
Main duties
To be flexible, able to work 12-hour shifts including days, nights, public holidays and weekends either on a set shift pattern or on a relief basis, usually working a minimum of 42 average hours per week in line with business demands
Security
1. Report & liaise with Mitie Management teams to ensure effective communication of all matters pertaining to the delivery of a high standard
2. Provide a highly visible security presence on and around the site
3. Operate internal and external patrols
4. Provide car park patrols and apply restrictions as required
5. Operate search policy as per instructed
6. Report writing on incidents, accidents, damage, suspicious activities
7. Report immediately to the Response Team Leader any action or inaction which compromises safety
Emergency response
8. Actively respond to an emergency such as an uncontrolled fire or release of potentially harmful substances.
9. Provide emergency medical care until the arrival of external emergency services
10. Accident report writing, medical reports, medical log, transfer requests from OHD to/from hospital.

12. Maintain all emergency equipment in a state of readiness, including cleanliness, repairing and testing as required to approved standards and procedures to undertake safety checks on emergency equipment provided for ERT use
13. Take part in continuous training and learning programmes by attending lectures, exercises, simulated incidents, practice drill sessions, security duties and other training associated with the role
Person Specification / skills
14. Full clean Driving Licence
15. Front line SIA licence (desirable)
16. Pass a medical and fire and rescue fitness test and maintain a level of personal fitness necessary to carry out all the duties of an Emergency Response Team member
17. Pass all required security and background checks, including past 5-year employment history
18. Will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing
19. Professional appearance, approach, and positive attitude
20. An in-date FREC 3 medical qualification (desirable)
21. IT skills (basic/intermediate)
