Your new opportunity
An rare and exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Family Support Worker to join our family support service in Dumfries and Galloway. As a Family Support Worker, you will provide intensive family support to children and their families in Dumfries. You will play an important role in keeping families together and supporting them with wider social inequalities that impact their lives. You will ensure that families and children's voices are heard while tailoring support to meet their identified needs. Each person you meet will be listened to, respected, and involved in decisions that could affect them, working towards achieving positive outcomes.
This opportunity is a relief role, working hours will be dependent on service needs.
What you will need to bring to the role
* An understanding of drug and alcohol issues, child development, and family dynamics.
* Knowledge and/or experience of child and/or adult protection.
* A supportive and enabling approach to all family members and staff.
* The ability to prioritize tasks and organize a diverse workload.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Excellent IT skills, confidence, and knowledge.
* Experience of effective inter-agency collaboration.
* The ability to work irregular hours when required, including evenings and weekends.
* A driving license and access to own transport.
* A compassionate and empathetic approach when supporting families facing challenges.
