The Role
An exciting role has arisen for a Works Co-ordinator responsible for the direct co-ordinating of all works with in the Streetscene Department.
Responsibilities.
* Liaise with suppliers for procurement of specific materials
* Any other duties which may be required by management from time to time
* Provide compliance support across Departments.
* Support Departments in developing their specific risk assessments.
* Managing the day to day operations of the Street Scene Service.
* Reviewing, planning and implementing changes in service.
* Helping to ensure a clean and healthy local environment

The Candidate
The successfully appointed Works Coordinator will have the following skills and abilities:
* Work without close supervision, but a good team player.
* Experience or knowledge of Environmental management systems.
* Experience of administrative work.
* A proven background successfully generating, monitoring and achieving health & safety objectives.
* An excellent communicator with great influencing skills able to build exceptional working relationships across all levels.
* Confident in challenging unacceptable Health & Safety behaviour.
* Valid driving licence (to travel between sites)
* Create a working environment that is conducive to delivering a high level of service delivery.
* Respond to queries and questions in various formats from elected members, members of the public and other stakeholders.
* Provide input and responses to various relevant consultations. Represent the Service / Authority on relevant internal and external working groups, meetings and other events.
* Work in close liaison with the Waste Supervisors, Grounds Maintenance Supervisors and Highway Supervisors to ensure that teams are working together to maximise productivity within Streetscene .This includes sharing resources as required and ensuring that teams have a shared ethos and common priorities.
