We are recruiting for our client on a permanent basis for a Maintenance Engineer with machine tool experience. The focus of the role is mainly the production machinery which is CNC Milling and Turning Machinery. The role will also include maintaining pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, pumps and motors, assembly and test equipment, general facilities maintenance, and sub-contractor management. Within the business the Engineer will be self-motivated with minimal supervision (after any training) to maintain the machine shop to a very high standard and ensure all statutory compliances are met. This will include supporting the Facilities Manager and the production team in daily routines and monitoring of the plant and liaising with subcontractors and suppliers when required. Vacancy – Maintenance Engineer
We are recruiting for our client on a permanent basis for a Maintenance Engineer with machine tool experience. The duties will include machine monitoring, general machine repairs, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and compliance with 5s across the site. They will also be involved in project managing future development of the machine shop.
Responsibilities:
•Carry out inspection and preventative maintenance of key equipment in line with management control procedures.
•Performing routine machinery inspections and maintenance tasks.
•Diagnosing and repairing equipment breakdowns and malfunctions.
•Supporting the installation of new machinery and equipment.
•Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
•Understanding of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
•Providing input into the development of preventative maintenance strategies.
•Documenting all maintenance work for record-keeping purposes.
•Collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to optimise performance.
•Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
•Carry out routine maintenance work (reactive and PPMs) on machine tool equipment.
•Maintenance of machines within the manufacturing cell, which includes CNC machinery
(e.g. grinding, milling, and turning machines). and general Facilities maintenance.
•Plumbing, pipe fitting, compressed air systems.
•Hydraulic and pneumatic systems; fitting, fault finding & repair.
•Mechanical fault finding and repair of pumps, compressors, fans & rotating machinery.
•Safe systems of work; permit systems & risk assessments
•Produce monthly reports for senior management, summarising key action points
for maintenance and service work.
•Undertake any additional, reasonable, and appropriate duties as required from time-to-time,
taking into account relevant qualifications, knowledge, and experience.
•This role may be required to undertake out of hours working as necessary for emergency call-outs and planned production management activities.
Requirements:
•Mechanical maintenance qualification and experience in electrical maintenance.
•Experience working on control panels emergency stops circuits and motors.
•Experience with Inspection and testing (a benefit but not essential).
•Experience of machine tool service and maintenance techniques.
•A strong understanding of CNC metal cutting machinery of varying ages.
•Ability to deal with conflicting manufacturing requirements speedily, devising repair.
schedules to resolve machine breakdowns.
•Trained and licenced for the use of access equipment, scaffold towers, forklift trucks
(preferably PASMA/PAL certified and forklift licence holder).
•PAT Testing Qualification City & Guilds – Inspection and Testing of Electrical
Equipment.
•Ideally be trained to the latest 18th edition wiring regulations (a benefit, not essential).
•Able to adapt to continuously changing priorities in a time-led production environment.
•An awareness of PUWER, LOLER and COSHH.
•Preferably you will have a forklift licence and PA test C&G .
