Purpose of the Role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager the primary responsibility of the Management Accountant would be to prepare the monthly management accounts to support the Monthly Business Reviews and Board Meetings. Collaborating closely with the Finance Team and the business partners, you will lead and co-ordinate accurate preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, annual management information and take a lead role in the budgeting and forecasting process. Through delivery of accurate and timely reporting you will aid in further enhancing the reputation of the Finance Team. This role is being hired on a fixed-term basis for an initial 9-month period.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of the monthly management accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
* Preparation of supporting cost analysis schedules and variance analysis and reviewing the same with the budget holders.
* Preparation and review of accruals and prepayments of various fixed and variable costs.
* Reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts, highlighting and resolving any issues discovered.
* Preparation of monthly balance sheet and cashflow statements.
* Provide financial forecasts and supporting information as and when requested.
* Support with the preparation of the annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
* Collaborate with the management accounts team, business partners and the Senior Leadership Team to provide necessary support from a financial and commercial point of view.
* Undertake analytical support on ad-hoc projects as and when required.
* Oversee the smooth and efficient running of the AP function and take full control of landlord related costs.
* Drive efficiency through continuous review and development of the processes within the finance department.
* Manage and develop a small management accounts team.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Technical:
* Qualified Accountant (CIMA or ACCA) with a minimum 5 years of mainstream accounting experience.
* Experience of managing the full process for submitting monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow preparation.
* Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel.
* Strong organisational skills and a team player.
