As Head of Mechanical Engineering, you'll ensure SEA has the skilled workforce, fit-for-purpose processes, and access to current tools and standards to meet business objectives.
The Head of Mechanical Engineering can be based at any of our three sites: Bristol, Barnstaple, or Beckington, with regular travel to all sites. The role offers flexible and home working options.
The salary for this role is up to £70,000, depending on experience.
What you'll be doing
1. Develop the Mechanical Engineering workforce by establishing and maintaining a competence and career framework, considering professional body standards. Set and review development objectives during development discussions.
2. Undertake fee-earning work, such as chairing engineering gate reviews, evaluating technical feasibility and risk, and acting as a senior reviewer for critical deliverables.
3. Act as Process Lead in developing and improving discipline-related processes, including design, maintenance, communication, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
