Senior Diagnostic Order Comms Systems Lead
The Senior Diagnostic Order CommsSystems Lead will contribute to the implementation of the Trust's Digital Strategy by ensuring that the Global Order Communication Systems are effective, aligned with Clinical Safety standards, and compliant with Information Governance, Data Protection, and Information Security Management requirements.
In this role, the post holder will act on behalf of the Order Communications or Pathology IT Manager when needed and will take a lead role in raising awareness of the functionality and advancements of Order Communication Systems. They will also oversee training initiatives within the Trust and primary care, promoting data quality and the optimal use of the order communication system.
Main duties of the job
* Lead the development, maintenance, and delivery of the global order communications project, including system enhancements, upgrade road maps, and training programs. Facilitate the sharing of system management standards, guidance, best practices, and compliance with relevant legislation.
* Ensure effective risk management for order communication systems and the associated data by implementing Trust-wide standards and ensuring adherence to those standards.
* Drive the implementation of order communication systems across diagnostic areas, primary care, and neighbouring Trusts within the Integrated Care System (ICS).

Job responsibilities
Collaborate with the Order Communications Systems Manager to implement strategies and plans that promote best practices for managing and developing the Global Order Communication systems, both within the organisation and regionally.
Take a leading role in all ongoing projects, overseeing workload management and resource allocation.
Develop, manage, and coordinate a comprehensive Order Communications Systems Upgrade Program across the organisation and primary care, ensuring regular review of change controls and business continuity plans.
Supervise the Diagnostic Order Communications Systems team on a daily basis, providing support, addressing training needs, and monitoring attendance.
Design and deliver flexible, interactive training programs regularly, ensuring new staff are on-boarded and existing staff receive refresher training on system usage, data quality, and data standards, in collaboration with services to accommodate all staff.
Update training materials as needed, following investigations into breaches of Trust policies and relevant legislation.
Ensure that business continuity plans are regularly tested with services and updated where necessary to reflect any changes.
Negotiate with users to address any ad hoc training needs identified through investigations of breaches.
Person Specification
Experience
* Expert working knowledge of EMIS or other Clinical Information Systems.
* Must have sound experience of staff supervision/line management.
Education
* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
* Able to demonstrate recent interest in own personal development.
Skills
* Excellent, communication, interpersonal, organisational and presentation skills.
* Ability to design and develop highly complex system specifications.
* Capable of developing strategies and policies in line with legislative changes.
* Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge
* Aware of the current NHS IM&T and modernisation agenda.
