Role
Doula and Breastfeeding Support Worker
22.5 hours per week
Salary £14,979.7
Responsibilities
* Providing breastfeeding support and guidance to families in the community and hospital settings, including home visits.
* Supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period, ensuring access to appropriate resources and care.
* Assisting in the recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteer doulas, ensuring quality standards are maintained.
* Collaborating with health professionals and partner agencies to deliver joined-up care and promote the service.
* Maintaining accurate records, complete monitoring and evaluation tasks, and contribute to continuous service improvement.
Qualifications / Skills
* Understand current guidance and issues around breastfeeding and provide informed support.
* Communicate effectively with parents and professionals, both verbally and in writing.
* Organise and plan work independently while being flexible and able to respond spontaneously.
* Work collaboratively with multiple agencies and maintain confidentiality and safeguarding standards.
* Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and online databases confidently for record-keeping and reporting.
