Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Protection Engineer position based in Stafford. The Protection Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining protective relay systems to safeguard electrical power systems. Day-to-day tasks include conducting analyses of power system events, configuring relay settings, testing and commissioning protective devices, and providing technical support to clients. The engineer will also work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop solutions that optimize the safety and performance of electrical infrastructures.
Qualifications
* Strong understanding of power systems, protective relaying, and system analysis.
* Proficiency in designing, implementing, and configuring relay settings for protection systems.
* Hands-on experience with testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting protection schemes and associated equipment.
* Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills to evaluate and address power grid events.
* Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to effectively collaborate with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
* Proficiency with specialized software tools for analyzing and modeling power systems.
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
* Experience working within the power systems or utilities industry is highly desirable.
