This is an exciting opportunity to join Cheshire East Council at a pivotal moment for transport marketing and service development. As Business and Marketing Officer, you’ll play a central role in developing and delivering high‑profile marketing campaigns that support transport services across the borough - helping residents understand, access and benefit from modern, inclusive and sustainable travel options.
Working within a forward‑thinking Transport team, you’ll help grow services, protect and enhance the council’s reputation, and support major projects through clear, engaging and effective communication. From campaign planning and content creation to stakeholder engagement, events and performance reporting, this is a varied role that offers real ownership and visible public impact.
You’ll work across the full transport portfolio, supporting service delivery teams to communicate confidently and consistently, while ensuring marketing activity aligns with the council’s wider strategic vision.
About you
1. Experience of developing and delivering marketing or communications campaigns with measurable outcomes
2. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences
3. Experience creating content for digital platforms, including websites and social media
4. Ability to manage multiple projects at once, prioritising effectively and working to deadlines
5. Confidence working with stakeholders and advising colleagues on communication approaches
6. Experience of monitoring performance, analysing feedback and reporting on progress
7. Understanding of brand, reputation management and consistent messaging
8. Experience of supporting or overseeing operational systems or processes
9. Awareness of budget management and value for money principles
10. Ability to work independently, showing initiative and sound judgement
11. A proactive, organised and collaborative approach with a commitment to public service
