Key Responsibilities of the SEN Secondary Teacher: Plan and deliver tailored lessons across secondary subjects to meet the needs of SEND learners. Differentiate teaching methods and resources to support a wide range of learning abilities. Monitor, assess, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback. Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment. Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCO, and other staff to provide holistic support. Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence in students. Ideal Candidate Requirements of the SEN Secondary Teacher: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification. Experience working with SEND students at secondary level is highly desirable. Strong subject knowledge across core curriculum areas. Excellent classroom management and adaptability. Patience, resilience, and a genuine commitment to supporting young people with additional needs. Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). What does GSL Education Offer?
