Prospero Teaching is looking for applicants interested in school work in the following areas: Bridport, Beaminster, Crewkerne, Chard, Yeovil.
What does this work involve?
As a supply cover, you will be covering absent teachers in various schools. Supply bookings can range from a single day to longer-term contracts for a full academic year, accommodating your personal needs.
You will be expected to commute to a school in the morning, receive cover work, take a register, manage the behaviour of the class throughout the day, and ensure all pupils are safe. You will ensure the class runs smoothly and manage disruptive behaviour according to the school's behavioural policy.
No prior teaching experience is required, but it is desirable. You will not need to plan lessons.
Experience, Training, and Qualifications
* No formal qualifications or experience are required for cover supervision work.
* Desirable qualities include resilience, good timekeeping, confidence in managing classes, and experience working with young people.
* Qualifications such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS, or equivalent are preferred for supply teaching roles.
* Up-to-date safeguarding training issued in the last year is desirable but not essential.
Eligibility through Prospero Teaching:
* Willingness to register with Prospero Teaching and complete all vetting checks.
* Right to work in the UK.
* Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to process a new application.
* Provide two professional child-related references.
