Description The Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) project currently involves the planning, design and construction of circa 320km of new strategic, large diameter, clean water interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure across Anglian Water’s region. The SPA Alliance is also taking on responsibility for the future interconnector pipelines, a further 260km of strategic interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure The Senior Works Manager will work with the Programme Area Management (PAM) team to support and ensure all construction activities are consistently provided in compliance with the scheme deliverables from development stage ready to go to site and project completion with zero defects at DM4 The role will be site based 4-5 days per week with attendance at the office in Peterborough on an adhoc basis Responsibilities Develop and sustain a high performing integrated programme across SPA Establish clear and consistent interpretation of the SPA standards Support operational team members to perform their role and delivery of the SPA standards Establish a culture of coaching and feedback Support clear delivery to SPA standards and consistency across SPA programme Ensure all providers follow the SPA way of working Utilise the knowledge and experience from different partners working on the framework Work with the PAMs to establish long term programme resource needs, future view on resources and DLO strategy if applicable Proactively resolve resourcing issues through PAMs or Project Director Ensure ongoing short-term planning of project needs (by local or central resource planner) to maximise resource utilisation Ensure SPA health and safety standards are understood implemented consistently and not compromised under any circumstances Provide visible H&S & Wellbeing leadership Challenge project teams for improvement Ensure constructability review outputs are shared across SPA and that we consistently use optimum methods Seek new ways of implementing best practices from Partner home organisations and the wider construction sector Ensure and support the implementation of SPA Site minimum standards Qualifications Previous experience in a senior works manager role Significant reputable construction and H&S experience Water sector experience (preferred but not essential) Experience of managing teams working on large projects or programmes >£50M. Experience of managing multiple stakeholder groups – internal and external to the organisation Experience of working in Alliances Excellent communicator with strong leadership skills Performance driven Ability to operate at all levels to suit need and the situation Able to manage conflicting demands Inspire, encourage & support the teams to achieve critical tasks & outcomes Adopt a can-do attitude & willing to be hands on if required to achieve the deliverables Full UK driving licence SMSTS IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent NEC supervisors course Lift supervisor or Appointed Person Working towards Chartered status MCIOB LI-JA1
